"swimmers never win and winners never swim"

« on: June 11, 2011, 07:29:44 PM »

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet like my boat. The last two days Pyranha and I were at the LY. We ran the loop twice on Friday and did a quick full run this afternoon. Pyranha looked great he was firing up all the big drops. He even went Rush Sturgis big a few times. (If you don't know Rush stop in at River Sport and take a look at the poster of him, they have up) He really has come along way and is way more beast like than ever before. We both picked multiple lines on each rapid and I did my best get to some class 3 action but my skills made it seem like a sleepy class 2 run. Pyranha also picked up a new ride from the great people at River Sport (home of the Sweet Strutter). We got to see some old friends and meet some new ones as well. Driving around I got to throw brown claws to every boater I saw and I got some brown claws back (Demshitz boys for sure) Spread the claw is what it is about. I was able to wave wheel the entire Cucumber Rapid this time top to bottom. Overall a super couple of days for both of us. I'll post pics from Adventure Photos as soon as they up load them.

Here is the link for our photos from the 11th...we begin at pic number 1175776. You can see Pyranha's super clean line and a few squirts. In my photos I'm wearing this neon wrist band well those bands allowed you to get 10% off your photos if you purchased them that day so after our run I stopped in the photo house and....coming through the doors...Jess: (photographer) "Hey you're that guy in the yellow helment."
Splash: "Uh..yea how did you know?"  Jess: "In 4 years of taking pics I've never seen someone come through the rapid like that." Splash: "(chuckle).. well I guess that's some kind of historical precedent then." Jess:..(laugh)..for sure..."

Enjoy...

Those first series of pictures on that page are very cool. The two guys hand paddling down the right hand side of Cucumber.
