I am def planning on the savage for June 3rd and something like LY for Sat. I may wait to see what we run this weekend to decide on the Sat. river, but I am thinking the way you are, a two day trip, doing something out that way for Sat.
P.S. I just came across the savage release dates: Sunday June 3 Sunday July 1 Saturday September 29

If the weather is ok I'm in to do something Saturday and then the Savage on Sunday. I can't get off work for Friday. I would drive out Friday night and set up camp. Where are you guys planning on camping?

Pete, can either camp at Benners at a group site for $10 a person or so, or camp at the State Park and split a site, cost would be about the same.
I guess if we want to camp at the State Park we should probably make reservations.
And I guess launch permits for Saturday.
Is anyone willing to commit to anything?

Commitment is a strong word but I will commit to going but I can't make a Friday paddle. I will head out after work. The state park charges per car if you want to take it to the site so I say Brenner's. What time for launch permits? 11 am in case someone has to come on Saturday? Everyone can get their own if we pick a time.

OK we have a ball rolling...
I'm cool with Benners, so camping at Benners group site - I will call them tomorrow and confirm.
Launch time - I'd prefer an earlier launch time, say 10am, but can be flexible and understand if people want to come out Saturday morning. Is anyone planning on coming out Saturday and would prefer the 11am start?

I just talked with benners and we are good to go for the group site. I will talk with the manager when I'm there and get the CCGH set up like the CCC is at the discounted rate.

How can I get a permit for the LY? What time can I get on in the morning legally without a pass? I was on the website today and could not find anything. I think it is 8 am. Since I am camping out there I might just get on in the morning before I need a pass and do a FW workout till everyone else gets on. It will save me money and I get a good workout in.

Get online to get a Customer Account. After that you can reserve a permit. It's the same page where you reserve a campsite. See link below (should get you to the page to resreve a permit, or anything else for that matter): http://www.pa.reserveworld.com/SelectCampArea.aspx?PK_ID=6211Pretty sure you can get on without a pass up to 8am.

You may be able to get on the river before 8:00 without a permit but you'll need a shuttle token for Jack to give you a ride up the hill if you take out at Bruner Run. Maybe if you give your paddling buddy $10 he'll get one for you.

I just reserved my 11am permit.
Pete if you planning on running the Savage with us on Sunday there is a donation for shuttle there as well.
Just an FYI the Upper Yough raft trip is a go, so far Kevin Sweitzer, myself and Mike M (pending).

Yea I know about the shuttle tokens and all that crap. I am just trying to save where I can and make the most of my time out there. Saturday afternoon I'd like to take a good scouting look at the falls for a possible drop attempt in mid June. This year I think you can drop it anytime as long at the level is below 1.8.
