Does anyone know when the office opens up? Since I need a bus pass I hope it opens up before 8.

I think it opens up at 8:00am. I hear as long as you have your boat down by the river by 8:00am you are good to go. So once you have your boat at the water just walk up for a pass.

The long range forecast is calling for strong storms Friday, we may have a higher than normal level for the LY run Saturday.

Still a long way out...

If the LY gets too high I've heard that the Cassleman is a good backup plan.

Thanks Rick we'll keep that in mind.

I called ASCI and they told me the release is from 1-3pm, and they are providing shuttle service for a donation.

I like, and give you a big A+, your "LIST"s for the three days of this outting. Nice !!

And I like the "Fair Weather" designation for Pete. We'll have to start calling him "Fair Weather Pete".  Smiley
And the "Pending" desigantion for Mike for the Savage. I'm guessing "pending" how his shoulder feels after the first two days !!!

Rick, I like to see "the list", and I'm sure others do too, I think you started something good.

I will be camping at Benner's Friday and Saturday night and heading down to the Savage Sunday morning on the way home. It looks like I may be the only one camping Friday, as my fair weather camping buddy's are seeking better shelter cause of the forecasted rain. I guess I better bring the laptop and settle in with a good movie and some jiffy pop.

As far as Saturday, Pete says they are calling for strong storms and heavy rain Friday night. Just have to wait and see. We will meet at the Ohiopyle put in at 10:30am and discuss the LY level and/or other options if it's deemed too high. I'm game for somewhat higher levels, heck if I get too beat up I'll just tuck my tail and walk off at the loop, I've done that before.

Mike

Shawn, that hasn't really been discussed yet, I guess when the group gets mustered from camp and heads on down. The release starts at 9am, not sure if that is at the dam or the putin. I'm guessing it'll be more like 10-11 til we roll in. If you would like a more precise time I can call you Saturday night, maybe we'll have a plan by then. The runs are short and I'm planning on doing two runs.

That would be great if you would call me. I am taking Beth down the Stoneycreek for her first time on Saturday and we are camping somewhere Saturday. So, I likely won't have a signal so please leave a message. Thanks

Not sure if Benners is on the way from the Stoneycreek to the Savage, but there are a few of us staying there Saturday night.

Ok to simplify things, we will meet at the Savage river putin at 10:30

Hey guys, I'm thinking of coming out to join you all on Sunday. Mike you said, not sure about time for damn or the put-in. They are the one and the same. They turn the water on at the dam at 9:00. The dam is only 100 yards or so above where we normally put-in. when they turn the water on at 9:00 you could be boating at 9:15 on the rising flow. So for those that are afraid to boat the full 1000 cfs at peak flow you could get on early to catch a less pushy run or wait until the ramp down and shut off to try a run.
Shawn if you are looking for somewhere to camp coming from the Stoney, just drive to the Savage put-in. There is a large area right along the river and you can camp right there. It is an honor system box to put money in to camp there. There is a porta john there and thats is it.
