Todd,

Sorry but I was out all day and didn't see this until now. The river level is high for the Narrows and I don't expect there will be anyone showing up for this first outting. I might be wrong and maybe some diehards will come out even with the river level over 5'.

If you still need directions to Al's property post again and I'll give you specifics to get there.

Oh sorry Todd. I didn't look and thought I was reposonding to the post for the June 5th Narrows session.

The club has permission to use Al's property to access the Narrows on the scheduled Narrows Nights only so this is not a putin to be used any other time than the scheduled club outings. Soooo...

To get to Al's property go to Dauphin and at the square in the middle of town turn towards the river and go a short 2 blocks and go thru the railroad underpass. Turn left, down river, and continue on over the bridge crossing the Stony Creek. You are now on Al's property. Continue on past the house and drive to the very end of the road. Not much of a road at this point. At the very end it goes thru a privacy fence sort of thing and there is a small triangle of grass that is right along 22/322. That's where we park. And there is a small trail that goes down to the river on the up river side of the privacy fence. This puts you in the river right across from the old bridge piers near the statue of Liberty.

I dont think I willbe making it out tomorrow.  Cry  I sprained my ankle pretty bad this weekend and it is swollen and all black and blue.  Dr said to keep it wraped and stay off it as much as I can for a week or so.   So may be next week.

Kathryn,

I'm watching the weather and hoping for the best !!

But... if I look at the radar and it looks like we are going to get hit with some big, extended storm fronts.. then probably a no go for us.
On the other hand... if these thunderstorms are looking to be more hit or miss, or if they are going to roll thru early or late so it looks like we can still be a couple hours squeezed in there somewhere... then we will try to make it.

The river level looks like it should be at a good level  (4.25' - 4.5').

Checked out the radar and see a bit of a break coming... but also behind that... what look to be a couple of lines of more concentrated storms moving our way. Don't want to make the drive and not get to paddle so I guess Jill and I will miss another Narrows Night.

As Len said tho. The river is not closed. So if you are close and don't mind maybe having a thunderstorm mess up your plans.... go for it.

This is a rain date for Thurs, tho it started as a pick up trip string...

I discussed it with RB and we are going to consider this the raindate for the scheduled Tuesday club trip and use Al's put in.  Please be aware that it still follows that  the club has permission to use Al's property to access the Narrows on the scheduled Narrows Nights only  so this is not a putin to be used any other time than the scheduled club outings.
