Don't miss this opportunity to paddle a beautiful section of the Yellow Breeches followed by a potluck picnic at the take out, Simpson Park. This section of the Yellow Breeches is suitable for all paddling skill levels.

Paddlers will meet just below the Williams Grove Rd Bridge on Creek Rd at 10:00. Parking is limited so drop boats and gear and head back to Simpson Park and wait to run shuttle.  Simpson Park is the take out for this trip as well as the location for the CCGH picnic following the paddle. We have the park pavilion reserved for the day. The paddlers should arrive at Simpson Park about 1:00. The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, and drinks (tea and lemonade). Those attending are asked to bring a potluck dish - side, salad, desert. The park has plenty of open space and there is a nice stretch of relatively deep water near the take out, all suitable for picnic type games and water activities. So grab the kids, break out your tailgate and picnic games, bring your favorite picnic food and join us for a day of fun on and off the water.

This is a link to a google map that shows the location of the putin and the take out / picnic location.

There are a number of places where you are likley to scrape, I'd bring something other than a glass boat.

Awesome trip!  The weather gods smiled upon us and it was perfect for the whole trip and the picnic.

Thank you, Len and Chris!

We had 20 people at the picnic afterward and about that many on the river.

We had a good trip and a great picnic - lots of awesome food - potato salad, cheese cake, chocolate cake with chocolate chips, mini pecan pies - you guessed it I liked the deserts.  Moving water of any speed always has the potential for excitement and we had a couple of swims, all taken in stride.  One of the highlights was the giant snapping turtle sunning on a log.  Pete got some pictures maybe he and Judy can post one or two.
