The Week of Rivers is an amazing club-organized week of boating everything from flat water
to class V creeks, and even includes outdoor activities for non-boating partners or family members.
Activities are centered at the Smoky Mountain Meadow Campground near Bryson City, NC.
You must be a member of the Carolina Canoe Club to participate ($20.00/year).

This is a trip for anyone interested in practicing the skills needed to enjoy canoe/kayak camping.
Novices need not be intimidated by primitive camping conditions.
The evening camping will be at a campground with full toilet and shower facilities.
However, since the intention is to learn how to do wilderness camping, all participants will be
transporting their own camping, cooking and food gear with them in their boats.
We intend to paddle an interesting stretch of the Juniata River, from Mcveytown to Cuba Mills.
This includes the Narrows below Lewistown and a stop at the recently restored Pennsylvania Canal Lift Lock No. 13.
Please sign up early if you intend to participate, as campground reservations need to be made for the group. |

Cayuga Lake Paddle, NY

Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes in NYS on the 14 Sept. It is the second year of the event.
It is a marathon type, fun event to paddle the whole length of the lake (35m) as an individual
or as a relay team or to start at shorter intermediate points. The shortest is 8miles.
There are rest stops with refreshments and a party with food at the end in Ithaca.
Paddle Cayuga Lake in a kayak, canoe or other craft from one of these start locations
and finish at a party in Ithaca with food and live music. Or paddle as a relay team.

Start 2 (24 miles): Dean’s Cove Marine Park 10:00 am

NJ Pine Barrens 'Camping Weekend' Trip

The dates for the 2013 Canoe Club of Greater Harrisburg New Jersey Pine Barrens trip are
Friday, October 25, Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 2013. This year’s trip
will be canoe camping on the Batsto River. Plans are to gather and camp at Atsion Family
Campground on Friday evening and then proceed to the take-out early Saturday morning
to meet the outfitter who will shuttle our boats and gear to the put-in (the closest safe
overnight parking area to the put-in is about four miles). The cost of the shuttle service
will be divided between all participants. Plans may change depending on water levels, etc.
as the date approaches.
While the itinerary may vary as we get closer to the date, it’s not too early make your
campground reservations for Friday, October 25. (You do not need to make reservations
for canoe-camp site on Saturday evening). NJ does NOT have an on-line campground
reservation system so to make reservations call 609/268-0444. They will take your credit card
number and send a confirmation. The camping fee is approximately $20 per night.
You are permitted six (6) persons, two (2) tents and two (2) vehicles per site.
