Keystone Aquatics Pool Sesssion
February 5 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
The Keystone Aquatics Pool at 103 Midway Drive in Carlisle – actually halfway between Carlisle and Mount Holly Springs, behind the Bowling Ally and Roller Skate rink.
The pool is 8 ft. deep everywhere – no shallow end for the instructors to work with people on learning to roll. This means that it’s for people that already have a roll, and for those who have a marginal roll, but are comfortable with T-rescues when they miss. It also means PFDs should be definitely worn – even though a lifeguard will be there. Water temp 80 deg. w/ Air temp 82 deg, which is a bit cool (remember – you’re at 98 deg.), so dress accordingly.
The pool is a huge stainless steel frame with a vinyl lining, which means launching a canoe or kayak from the edge would damage the vinyl at the lip. All boat launchings must be from a wide Pool Divider. At CV we were not allowed to stand on the divider, whereas at this pool you Must launch from it – Not from the sides of the pool.
Boat cleanliness is also just as important as it is at any pool we use, so double check before each session.
We’re going to hold the cost at $5 for now, but ACA Insurance is required, so that’s an additional $10 – or Not if you’re an ACA member – good reason to join. Either way, like CV, you’ll need to have an ACA waiver filled out for each session.
