Big group for tomorrow. 15 paddlers currently have contacted me in one form or another and there always seems to be one or two that show up who have not.
Glen Onoko by 9:45. Ready to shuttle by 10:15
We will try to meet in the paved parking lots right at the Glen Onoko takeout, either the usual parking spaces you pass after crossing the wooden bridge, as you come in, or possibly we can find space on the backside of the one way loop by the river where the buses usually park on a release weekend. IF there is no space right at the takeout we’ll have to drive back out to one of the gravel lots to organize the first leg of our shuttle to start the trip up to Rockport to put in.
I think most people would not be coming by Rockport on the way to Glen Onoko, but in the off chance that is along your way to Glen Onoko you could drop your boat at Rockport, down by the river, if you are comfortable with leaving it set there, or have means to lock it to something. DO NOT go out of your way to go by Rockport to drop any boats or gear if it is out of your way getting to Glen Onoko in the morning. We will work out the shuttle on the front and back of the paddle, one way or another. We do a reverse shuttle on this section of the river so we can cut down on driving and shuttle time as much as possible. It take a bit of time to work out and organize this reverse shuttle but it’s worth it over meeting at the put in.
