Kathy,
The river level is coming down but I don’t think it will come down enough. Currently it is around 4.4′ and that’s where the river level predictor has it holding thru most of tomorrow. So I definitely expect it will be higher than last week and some were complaining about the amount of current at that time. It was around 4.1′ last week.
So while it may be a bit lower than ideal levels for the area above the Rockville Bridge I think it would be a better option than the Narrows tomorrow. I plan to be there at the west shore put in above the Rockville Bridge around 4pm to meet Jim Booth. I’ll be there for quite awhile so could still meet you around 6pm for some paddle time in that area.
Here are directions to Al’s just in case you are still going to meet there for the Narrows.
Directions to Al Sutton’s
To get to Al’s property go to Dauphin and at the square in the middle of town turn towards the river and go a short 2 blocks and go thru the railroad/22-322 underpass by way of Market Street. Turn left, down river, on River Road and continue on over the bridge crossing the Stony Creek. You are now on Al’s property. Continue on past the house and drive to the very end of the road. Not much of a road at this point. At the very end it goes thru a privacy fence sort of thing and there is a small triangle of grass that is right along 22/322. That’s where we park. And there is a small trail that goes down to the river on the up river side of the privacy fence. This puts you in the river right across from the old bridge piers near the statue of Liberty
