The water level at the Sharpsburg, Md gauge is still too high but I expect it to drop enough to run the trip by the 3rd.
Meet at Devil’s Backbone park near Boonsboro, Md. at 10:30. We will shuttle to the take out below the Burnside Bridge in the national battlefield and should be on the river by 11:30. This is about an 8 mile Class I trip with some fun riffles and small ledges. There is a small dam near the takeout with a chute that is manageable for beginners. We should be off the river between 3 and 4.
Packed lunch and water is suggested. PFDs are a must.
10:30 meet at Put-In
Devil’s Backbone Park is located along Route #68 near Lappan’s Crossroads. To access the park from the Sharpsburg Pike, Route #65, turn left at Lappan’s Crossroads and continue approximately one and one-half miles on Route #68 toward Boonsboro. The park is on the left.

Megan Barrick and I, Jim McDonald, would be interested in joining the trip. My number is 301-693-4978.
This trip is cancelled. The predicted water level at the Sharpsburg, Md gauge is too high for a Class I+ trip. I will post on the pick up trips if it gets rescheduled.
