I just found out Rollins Pond is closed after 9/2. We will instead be based out of Fish Creek Pond which is right beside Rollins Pond. There are only about 35 sites open for the entire week. They allow 6 people, 2 tents OR 1 hard wheel vehicle & 1 tent per site. So please plan accordingly. There is one big shower house with 30 men & 30 women’s showers at 25 cents for 5 minutes. Bring quarters. Lisa & Bart are in site 22 and there are some near by sites still open.
Arrive September 8th, paddle, hike, bike September 9th to the 13th, and depart on September 14th. We will plan day paddles to various ponds, lakes, & creeks in the Adirondacks which may include going through a lock. There are also hiking and biking trails nearby. We will be based out of FISH CREEK POND NOT ROLLINS POND in the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest Area which is located 25 miles west of Lake Placid. The campground offers sites that can accommodate tents to 40’ RV’s. You can even paddle directly from most of the campsites. Participants are responsible to obtain their own campsites.
Here is a link to the campground for information and a link to make your reservation: http://www.fishcreekpond.com/introduction.php
