Giving plenty of advance notice of this “pick-up” trip to allow everyone a chance to plan ahead and join in.

The RPC(Retired Paddlers Club) is going to be holding it’s first ever “RPC Conference” in Ohiopyle. August 13 – 18, 2018
And the Good News is … You don’t have to be an actual “retired” paddler to participate. Even working stiffs that just want to take some time off work during the week, are welcome so come out and join in the fun.

I have reserved a group tent camping site(site #130 230) at the PA State Campground(Kentuck Campground) a short distance outside of Ohiopyle, PA for the dates listed above. Arrive as early as Monday the 13th and depart as late as Saturday the 18th.

No need to commit to the whole week. Come out and camp overnight with us on any of those dates(13-17). Totally up to the individual.
Cost per night will depend on how many people are sharing the group site on any given night. Currently there are at least 3 of us in for camping all 5 nights.

Pros: During the week there is usually less boater and rafter traffic. NO put on passes needed Monday thru Friday. Camp overnight on the already reserved group site. No muss, no fuss.
Cons: If you can think of any … let me know. 😉

If you want in, post here.

Eric Keppley pointed out that I had the wrong site number listed in my original post above. The group site reserved for this trip is site #230 (not #130 as I had originally posted). I was only off by 100. 😉

Cons: I bet most all of the RPC guys snore, so you better have real good earplugs.
Cons: They probably can’t make it through the night without a pee, so you better watch where you step in the morning.

I’ll be joining camp Thursday thru Sunday to paddle lower Yough with the group. After all, retirement is not guaranteed! Got to do it while I can.
