It looks like with the current water level and the rain we have now, we will be able to do the section through the Swatara state park from Swopes Valley Road down to the Monroe Valley Road canoe access, which is about 8.5 miles and is almost all inside the park.

There will be at least one strainer to carry around.

(You can do the shuttle by bicycle entirely on the rail trail for this section, by the way.)

Please reply here or call me at 7l7-887-422O.

Bart & Lisa would like to join you for this trip. One canoe & one kayak. We have biked the park, but never paddled it.

      Hello Everyone,

Swatara Creek is currently at 500 cfs at the AT crossing in the State Park so it looks good to do the section from Swopes Valley to Monroe Valley. This is almost all inside the park and is class I.

The forecast is for it to be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with a high temp of 43 degrees.

We will meet at 10:00 AM at the Lickdale General Store at the KOA campground at the intersection of Rout 72 and Lickdale Road.

You can call my cell at 717-887-4220 if you need more directions.

      Please reply here to confirm.

      See you in the morning!

      Brian
