ParticipantJim and I will be at this weekends pool session and we were wondering if anyone has a Pyranha Ripper, Dagger RPM, Liquid Logic Braap, or a Liquid Logic Mullet they wouldn’t mind bringing along for Jim to try out? He has been using my Diesel for the last year and now he is starting to think about getting a boat of his own but really wants to try some out before purchasing anything. He is 6ft tall and weighs 200lb. He is looking for something more playful then my Diesel but that will still be solid in the bigger water we run sometimes. Thanks

ParticipantI apologize for the last minute change but we will not actually be kayaking this weekend after all. There was a change in my schedule and although I will be guiding Saturday, neither Jim or I will be running the Lehigh for fun this weekend. However I am sure other people will be so please check on Facebook and talk it out on here. Again I am so very sorry about this. Have fun out there.

ParticipantJim Alexander is at campsite 19A we are at 19B. Hope to see u guys.

ParticipantSounds good. Jim is going to run the Lower Lehigh with Rick Brown and them on Saturday while I herd rafts down guiding. Then Sunday we will be running the Upper Lehigh. We will be showing up to camp at Whitewater Challengers Friday night time depends when I’m able to get off work. I’ll be volunteering at the festival for work so hope to see u guys there.

ParticipantSo we switched things up our tentative plan is the Nesky tomorrow meet at 10am at put in. Sunday is run the Upper from White Haven to Rockport or stay on and go straight through to Glen Onoko to run a marathon. Pot Luck will be at 6pm. We are at campsite 19A.

ParticipantWe are at campsite 19A at Whitewater Challengers camp ground for those of u that need to know. As for tomorrow expect 6,000cfs or at least that is what the roamer is. At this point I would say if you have not kayaked the Lower Lehigh before or do not have a solid combat roll do not attempt. I’m going to talk to some fellow guides later when I go pick up my kayak. I’ll post what the plan is tomorrow after talking with them. Keep an eye on here or get hold of me.

ParticipantAlright guys and gals. They have cancelled the recreational release and they are going big. Suspected 4,000cfs to 6,000cfs this weekend. So just to give you a general idea somewhere between 800cfs to 1,200cfs I consider the sweet spot for fun and working on your technique. Anything above 2,000cfs starts to look like a different river and starts to get a little more pushy and aggressive. Anything from 4,000cfs and up is pushy, demanding water. To be honest at 4,000cfs and up the swims are long, the holes are bigger and the islands become strainers. You need to be a class 3-4 boater and be able to get your boat where it needs to be. That said I will be running the Lehigh both Upper and Lower sections through out the summer yet and I will be sure to post it on the message board so people that want to see it at average levels can get a chance. Also there are lots of other things such as hiking and what not in the area to explore. So even if you decide kayaking this weekend may not be your cup of tea we are still camping and the pot luck is still on for Saturday night. I made zuchinni brownies after all and someone’s got to help me eat them. If you have questions please ask on here or get hold of me via text or phone call at the number I proivided above. I am holding off on calling off kayaking completely until I see the levels and get up there tomorrow night. Keep an eye on here for further information.

ParticipantThe dam is currently predicting 1,400cfs this weekend on the Lehigh with inflow and outflow. That’s a good level and shouldn’t be a problem, but i will keep an eye on things and keep u posted on here.

ParticipantHey all. Sorry I didn’t have access to a computer for a few days. Here are the answers to the questions though. It takes about 30 to 40min to get from Rockport to Glen Onoko so we would need to drop off gear at Rockport around 8:30-8:45am or something in that ball park depending how long people need to organize before heading to the Glen. As for a head count the numbers keep changing, but it sounds like 6 to 8 depending? In regards to dinner Bart has generously offered to make the main dish in his Dutch oven. I plan to make a dessert, but I am unsure on what any others are bringing food wise at this point. Here is my cell if anyone needs to reach me directly 717-385-7597.

ParticipantPlan at this point due to the fact that base camp is so close to Rockport will be as follows. SATURDAY those of us staying at the campground will head to Rockport to drop off gear and none drivers. We will then meet at Glen Onoko at 9:30am to pick up any others with their gear and head back up to Rockport to launch. Once we get off the river and get back to camp we will have a pot luck for whoever wants to participate or you can feel free to check out the campground food options. SUNDAY we will meet at the White Haven put in at 9am and run shuttle to Rockport. If other people want to run other sections on any of these days please feel free. I am heading the Lower Saturday and the Upper Sunday.

ParticipantAs of right now Jim and I are coming along. We will be driving up from our place in MD though so we will just meet u at the baseball field. I really hope the level drops cause right now when I checked it’s at 5ft. We will keep an eye on here for updates. Hope to see u all on the river.
MegMegan Barrick
ParticipantJim and I will be coming out for sure. Our plan is to raft Friday, kayak the middle together Saturday, and I’m running the Lower Sunday while he hangs out. Can’t wait!
