Standup paddleboard training is offered in three levels. The level 1 part will get you standing for the first time if you’ve never stood on a board and teach you the basic forward, sweep and reverse (stopping) strokes. Level 2 broadens skills such as learning to move around on the board, cross stepping, bracing. You’ll learn addition strokes such as draws (static, skulling, nose, cross-nose), c-stroke, pivot turn, and stroke tempo variations. Level 1 is on a calm channel, Level 2 will get us on moving water on the creek. Level 3 is learning to stand in class 1 and 2 rapids in whitewater. Discussions are on day tripping, appropriate gear, safety equipment, leashes, fins, board and paddle contruction, and paddling in wind and rescues. Be prepared to get wet. Water shoes a must.
